Directed Picking
We’re working on a project for a company that does warehousing of cards for AT&T. As part of that project we’re doing directed picking, and put-away, of the cards. Our system is set up so that the cards are pulled in FIFO order.
ERP Software. Browser based cloud technology.
The RF handhelds tell the picker the location of the product to be pulled by identifying the area, row, section, and shelf. In the future, we probably will need to add the bin on the shelf to the location. The floor managers have the ability to see where each product is, based upon a color-coded diagram of the warehouse floor plan that is updated in real time.
